A Fond Farewell and a Warm Welcome

Niagara University wishes Art Cardella, director of alumni relations, a fond farewell as he retires to spend more time with his family. During his six years as director, Art instituted numerous changes and improvements in the university’s alumni program, most notably recreating the Alumni Association; instituting an Alumni of Distinction program; and enhancing, growing and establishing several regional alumni chapters. Under his leadership, the number of alumni volunteers who are engaged with the university has increased, and new creative programs have been added to Alumni Weekend, including affinity group reunions.

We’re pleased to announce that Patricia McIntosh, M.S.Ed.’10, has been named assistant director of alumni relations. Patty is no stranger to Niagara University — for the past five years, she served as office coordinator for the Office of Continuing Education. In 2010, she earned her master’s degree in school counseling, and two of her three sons are currently pursuing degrees at Niagara. Now she’s excited to join the alumni relations team to help reconnect and engage alumni with their former classmates and their alma mater.

“I love working with people and I love planning events,” Patty says. “I thought this job would let me do the things I love while giving me an even better opportunity to promote Niagara University.”

You can contact Patty at or 716.286.8770.
