Niagara softball player Teresa Healy has one more accolade to round out her stellar career, as she was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division I All-Star First Team. Healy was the only player from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference named to the top squad.
The Las Vegas, Nev., native claimed her second consecutive MAAC Player of the Year award this season after leading the conference in batting average (.425), slugging percentage (.867) and on-base percentage (.524) while leading the team in hits (51), RBIs (39) and runs (36). Healy concluded her illustrious career as the school’s all-time leader in games played, at-bats, runs, hits, RBIs, doubles, home runs and total bases.
The second baseman was also honored in May with inclusion on the 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-Region Second Team for the second straight season.
Since graduating summa cum laude with a degree in accounting, Healy went overseas to play softball in Germany.Follow her travels online here.
